Too much hate for boxers

You know, I am a huge Cotto fan and even though this whole Margarito thing kind of makes me smile, some people here take things way too far. It's easy for any one of us to talk about "Margarito is a fraud", "Cotto is a quitter", and "Mayweather is a coward", but we shouldn't be so ignorant. All of these guys put their life on the line to make the fans happy and to benefit boxing, so the hate that appears on this site is rediculous.

When Cotto lost to Margarito, it was crushing to Cotto fans, and of course Margarito and Floyd fans had to rub it in. Posting how "Cotto is a fraud and a quitter", "he's been exposed", and all that. Putting up vids of his family crying after the loss. All of it was really sickening to me.

Now Margarito has lost and we found out he might have been illeagally wrapping his hands all along. So what happens? The Cotto fans are getting their revenge and the Mayweather fans are saying "I told you so". Images of Margarito getting destroyed, videos of him going down, and signatures with hate thrown all over. To be honest, I got my shots in at Margs too. But there comes a point when you have to say, "enough is enough".

These guys have dedicated their lives to being the best they can be at a sport we all love, and I we can do is tear them apart. It's sad, it really is. You may like one fighter, and dislike another, but to call them a fraud, a quitter, or a coward and try to dishonor them online is just childish. I doubt anyone would say what they type to Margarito, Cotto, or Mayweather.

Stop this ignorant hate and grow up. It's not funny when someone is brutalized in the ring, and it's awful to criticize someone for something you probably can't even do.

Anyway, sorry about the rant, this Margarito thing just got me thinking.

Cotto only quit cuz the guy who was fighting had plaster in his wrapping even though Cotto didn't know at that time. Who the **** honestly believes that Margarito would only try to cheat against Mosley and not Cotto who was ranked one of the best p4p in the sport at that time.

You know what that's fine, and I completely agree with you. But people don't have to put it in their sigs and avis. I'm saying that it's not right for people to glorify someone getting seriously hurt.

I think useing avatars and pictures are acceptable, i mean there is no better joy than seeing your fighter do what you know they can do!

Im against getting personal about the fighters, if it wasnt for someone winning and indeed someone getting slapped around there would be no entertainment, they are providing a service and should be respected.

Again you're exactly right and I mentioned that above. The point is, why go to that level. The vids and pictures of Cotto's family on here was one of the worst things I've ever seen on here. If people want to reduce themselves to that level, fine, I just won't do it.
