The reason why Tarver is so funny to me...

It is natural that some boxers are going to ***** about a close decision that didn't go their way.

Some boxers even complain about the decision when they clearly get beaten (Quartey against Vargas is a good example).

But most boxers keep their mouth shut when they win, even if it's an SD or whatever.

When Antonio Tarver beat Muriqi by MD, he threw a fit and started going on about how that judge was blind and should be banned from boxing.

In addition, when he lost to Glen Johnson in the first fight (I thought he clearly won), here's how the interview started:

Merchant: Antonio, do you think you won the fight?
Tarver: Of course, you know, it's all or nothing with me, when it goes to the cards, I can't seem to get a fair shake, I gotta knock everyone out.



He is one hell of a talker, that's for sure.

Tarver is a unique fighter in the sense that he, like many others, came up having a chip on his shoulder. Planted there from his strong belief that he was better than the best guy in his division.

Usually, however, when that type of fighter actually gets the chance to prove it, the chip diminishes or goes away. Some always carry it on, but it is still something they can atleast put away from the most part.

He, on the other hand, will never put it away. He just wants to be taken seriously and as the best, whether he has to talk or fight to prove it.

One thing about him, he hasn't avoided the best out there, that's something you can't say.

I don't count Glen Johnson either, considering I had him winning both fights.

He's hilarious to hear talk, because he just likes to hear it. So he says what he thinks would impress him, and that's how usually all the funniest people treat public speaking. From comedians to just some dude telling friends a story.

whats funny to me is the way he talks...he talks the talk but doesnt not fight the fight...he's slow punches wierd and has no fans to speak of...and he talks out of one side of his mouth and looks like the alien from the movie "ENEMY MINE" any one else see the resemblance??
