Yes this fight is great for us boxing fans right now.

BUT if Haye gets killed we are right back where we were. If Haye wins, the rematch would be bigger but the non-boxing fans already missed the first one fight.
If HBO were any good at marketing these guys they would secure the rights to a couple Haye fights and put them on demand.

I showed my brother the Haye-Macca fight (he isn't even a casual fan) and when it was over he said he wouldn't mind seeing either guy fight again.

I disagree. There's still more challengers for Wlad to tee off against, all with the usual puncher's chance risks involved - Povetkin and Dimitrenko for starters, and also whoever wins between Chags and Valuev. Throw Arreola in there, too. It's not a stale pool by any means. If Haye doesn't succeed, then there's plenty of others to keep trying (and potential rematches if they somehow manage to lose a close UD or SD to Wlad).

I'm getting a bit sick of all this "heavyweight division sucks so badly right now" crap, to be honest. There are some very good, young up-and-comers out there all the time waiting in the wings, but there's also only so many times the champ can fight them in a year (in Wlad's case, kudos to him for fitting 3 in last year). It's Haye's turn now, and after him there'll be plenty of others.

... Unless the Hayemaker snatches that belt and brings it to Landan, innit.

Povetkin will never be a mean stream guy. Nor will Dimitrenko. Value is a waste of oxygen, can you really see people going crazy over Value.

Arreola would sell some PPV because hes Mexican (mexican/american).

But Haye has the syle, the look and the mouth to be a PPV attraction.

Heavyweights division does suck to everyone, except the die hard boxing fans.

So being a diehard counts for nothing, and it's frowned upon these days? I actually want all those fights to happen (even the Valuev one, just to see any of those guys embarass him), because I'm a fan of boxing in the end. The spectacle and PPV extravaganzas/buyrates are fun to observe as trivia, but it's the fights that happen in the ring I want to see - and all of the above just happen to be those fights.

          They're all good for boxing.

No its not that, its that i really wish boxing can be main stream again. I want to get those non boxing fan attention and let them see what we see.

I dont want to be selfish and be "whatever, i dont care if nobody watches as long as i see it."

Just look how the UFC has come out of nowhere and has become main stream these past few years

They know Haye's chin makes him beatable by any heavyweight who hits him just right (although the same can be said about anyone, but you get the idea) and they dont want to risk losing a chance at being the top dog in a fight with Wlad that would make him a star and make him very wealthy. He is smart to take the fight. He could lose alot of those "Name maker" fights.

I agree wit u man. If Haye loses where we at? Klits might getta unification with Chagaev after he beats Valuev. Chagaev lose by wide decision cuz dude can't land anythin. Arreola and Dimitrenko? One has suspect chin and other got weight issues. Povetkin is KO waitin to happen and boom that's all she wrote people. Haye jus gotta get it done and make **** interestin ya kno?

If Wlad fights anyone else the fans will clamor for him to fight Haye. It's what people want. That can't be bad for "boxing." If Haye wins it'll be a big deal. If he loses then Wlad gains a little more credibility and Haye gets quickly forgotten.
