By now, everyone and their dogs know about the stunning upset caused by Shane Mosley, defeating the now former Welterweight champion Antonio Margarito, as well as knowing about the shocking and shameful discovery of Margarito illegally wrapping his hands, supposedly having "plaster-like" materials in there.
Now, lets say he rematches Miguel Cotto, and wins again the same way, would you soften up and give him back a smidgen of your respect? Or would it take a rematch with Paul Williams, and Joshua Clottey (assuming he wins both) for him to rightfully regain the respect of boxers and fans alike?
What Antonio Margarito is shameful and a disgrace for everyone in boxing, from the fighters to the fans. If he wants to redeem himself he needs to bounce back from this defeat, learn some defensive tactics (other than blocking punches with his face), and rematch the fighters, again assuming they still want to fight him.
As a very bitter and sour fan of Margarito (for cheating, not losing), I need to see this from the Tijuana Breeze in order to once again become his fan.
Thoughts, opinions.
