I was a Margarito fan until I learned about his illegal handwraps.

That should tell you something. Margarito is always there to be hit and always was, it's just that we expected his chin to last forever. But eventually, every chin gets broken.
I think Shane was more up for the fight with Tony then he was with Mayorga. I think Mayorga was a bridge in light of Judah not being able to fight Shane took that fight strictly on Mayorgas name recognition and the fact that Mayorga KO'd Vargas. Tony is a whole different animal. remember Tony was regarded as the Top Guy at 147. This gave Shane a chance to be the Top Dog at 147 with a win. A true warrior like Sugar Shane Mosley can't let the opportunity to be Top Dawg paas him up even at 37. He was much more motivated to fight Tony then he was to fight Mayorga. Come he beats Mayorga what does he get a pat on the back and people like us saying well Shane what took you 12 rounds to KO him? Or telling him he looked horrible in doing so. He knew if he beat Tony it would be a win compared to B Hops win over Pavlik. It meant much more to him. Anyone with 2 eyes can or could see that. now what Shane is TOP at 147 and as for the P4P rankings go in my mind he was always in the TOP 20. Now after this showing he has got to move up in that list too no?....Lefty

Guys in all fairness I don't know about the hand wraps and exactly what the substance was in his gloves. Wit that being said I did say margarito was slow and had little to no boxing skill. What he did posses was will and a granite chin. The body shots that Shane was landing hurt Tony and took some of the steam out of him. they didn't allow him to get started. Shane was lunging in with straight right hands and hard right hooks to the body. He threw a few left right hook combos to the bdy hard I mean hard! he was not backing down and he was pushing Tony backwards. This is what is resposible for the way Tony looked. he thought Shane was going to fight like Cotto backing up and fighting going backwards. Shane fought coming forwards and then dipped to his left and under Tonys arm often. Tony is not and never was a god. he was getting beat by Cotto and Cotto just ran out of steam. Cotto doesnt have the chin of Mosley and he didnt go to the body. He was easy to hit with uppercuts and Margarito had money in the bank by landing big shots even though he was losing rounds early on. this did not happen Saturday night with Mosley. I honestly can't say I remember seeing Tony land one really hard shot head or body....Lefty

He is, and thats kinda pathetic if you think about it. Mayo is one of the most hittable fighters in history.
