He had good reason too he was competitive with Jeff Lacy, until he clearly got hit on the break then the ref took a point away from Robin Reid ? what the hell was that about ? and that hit on the break clearly changed the momentum of the fight.

      so...

      Who fought the better fighters?
Who is better at this present time?
Whos destruction over a limited(but still very good) opponent was more impressive?
Who was a better fighter in their prime?
Overall, who had the better career?
Hard to say who's better, but I think its clear Mosley fought better guys and when they were closer to their prime.

In Calzaghe's last fight, he got dropped and took a very past prime Roy Jones to decision.
In Mosley's last fight, he dominated and knocked out the best Welterweight in the world, who was coming off the biggest win of his career and was even in the p4p rankings(although possibly undeservingly), when about maybe 5% or less boxing fans thought he could knock out Margarito.

I think the 'who is the better fighter now' option is very open for Mosley.

just out of curiosity, Im wondering how people actually voted that Calzaghe faced the harder competition.

Mosley obviously, not taking anything away from Calzaghe, but Shane just destroyed the man who was the King of the most dangerous division in boxing. He also has more creditable wins and fights.

Margarito was a 4 to 1 favorite to win the fight, considered the best fighter at 147lbs and was even on the p4p lists...and Mosley nastily knocked him out, and Margarito was widely considered impossible to knock out.

Mosley should have a clean sweep in all these categories, but then again we do have guys like Tunney on the board

Joe is hugely underated but Mosley's career beats him every single day of the week. Mosley has always stepped up to the bar and fought the absolute best always he's never ran and sought them out whereas Joe simply did not do that even though he had the talent to make it possible.

Mosley has the perfect boxer's mentality he wants the greatest fights and even though most americans I meet are utterly biased against Joe because he isn't american or black Joe has serious ***** issues - he never did chase greatness. Mosley is the man!!!!

no, but if a guy is highly favored over another, it generally means that they are highly regarded in the boxing community. especially if the fighter theyre fighting is still considered a very good fighter.

I consider Margarito a much better fighter than Lacy(he certainly was much more accomplished than him), and the fact that Mosley actually finished him dramatically early in the 9th round is pretty amazing.

what else are we supposed to go by? I mean, Calzaghe didnt get hit as much as Mosley did, but personally, I thought Mosley won the 10th, 11th and 12th rounds much more dominantly than Calzaghe did.
