I think Barrera will win by KO/TKO. Despite what Jay Nady saw, he knocked Marquez down and there was no way JMM was going to beat that count. That was less than two years ago. Added to that he went the distance with Pacquiao. I think he has enough skill and power to KO Khan. I’m not saying Khan doesn’t have a chance but I think MAB still has enough left to win.

Well, well guys you never know. These are the days of surprises.
In my opinion, Amir had a terrible style of fighting before, throwing his punches and leaving himself wide open for counter punches , check out some of his fights and you know what i am talking about.
F.Roach can add a lot of defensive skills to his arsenal and i know perfectly well who barrera is but i wouldn't bet on barrera this time.
I go for Amir in this fight and look forward to bump this post after the fight to tell everyone; What did I say !!I think its a fight that they will talk about for quite some time
thats how good of a performance you will se from Amir, believe it or not

Khan has never fought anywhere near the quality of fighters to prepare him for a fight with even this late version of Barerra. MAB within 5.Comment

Could go either way. Khan has speed, power, skill and youth.. but is weak in defence (subject to any recent improvement) and has a lousy chin - not exactly a combo for success. An early KO.. to one or the other.Comment

For me Khan will win this fight i think he going to be the sort of fighter who will gett excited about being in the ring with a big name like MAB and will step up his game, also he shouldnt be looking beyond this fight which he might of been doing against prescott because if he loses this where does he go from there. so i think all of his natural advantages like height, speed, youth possibly better power at the weight will all be on show and his biggest asset who will help him iron out his less than stellar attributes e.g his defence is Freddie Roach, because aslong as Khan keeps his discipline and listens to what freddie is telling him, then i think khan will have to much on the night. But you never know MAB is a legend and may just school Khan on the night being that if he loses it is essentially it for him. but hey thats just my 2 centsComment

What's in it for Khan is that it would be a valuable learning experience for him to fight a faded but still extremely canny legend who will force him to think and to fight smart; and that it would also greatly increase his marketability if he can beat Barrera.
And quite frankly, now that he has Roach in his corner, if he still can't beat a fighter who although being a future hall-of-famer is past his peak, doesn't have a particularly concussive punch, and is not a true Lightweight, then Khan wll know that he will never be a top tier fighter, and he may as well retire now.
Personally I believe those who write Khan off are seriously underestimating the difference Roach is making to Khan. He is no longer the same idiot who lost to Prescott, and Pac rates him highly, based on their sparring sessions.Last edited by Dave Rado; 01-26-2009, 03:44 PM.Comment

Don't be daft. First, he's not ready for the top tier boxers yet. Have you never heard of Breidis Prescott? This fight isn't to prove anything to people like you, it's to improve his boxing education, which it will certainly do, and to improve his marketability. Second, Barrera is certainly not shot. He's past his best, but he's still a tough and very canny fighter.Comment
