I guess the little guys don't count as much. Why should people with 4 or 5 defeats inluding at least 2 in the last 3 years can be above Ivan Calderon on this list. Hopkins, Vazquez and Marquez, in my opinion are great boxers, no doubt, but Ivan Calderon is unbeaten and has dominated everybody and has not refused to fight nobody. It is that he doesn't have punching power but is the purest boxer in the sport.
Not only he has dominated his division 105 but he also moved to 108 and beat Cazares for the second time in his weight class.
The other fighters above him, beside Joe and Pacquiao, have not dominated his opponents like Calderon has. In the last 4 years that I remember he has only 1 close victory, (1st fight with Cazares). The rest have been buy a marging of 4 points or more on the score cards.
That must count for something. In My opinion he should be 3rd on the list.Comment

This list is a ****ing joke. They have Dawson and Williams but no Cotto. And they put Mosley at number 5. thats ridiculous!!!!!!!!!! Mosley was like 16 or 17 P4p, and he leap frog Vazquez and Calderon, because of 1 win thats a joke!!!!!!!!!!By Cliff Rold - Turn back the clock? Nonsense.
What Shane Mosley did, at age 37, was much more than that. He ripped the clock off the wall and stomped on it in much the same fashion he took to curb stomping Antonio Margarito over nine rounds on January 24th. It was a revelatory performance that allows for reevaluation of his entire career and it certainly causes a new look at the state of the game’s best fighters. How new a look?

What has Cotto done since his loss?? Nothing.Comment

Mosley has gone 3-1 in his last four with easy wins over Collazo and Marg, a KO of a former lineal champ who showed up tough (Mayo) and BARELY lost to Cotto with some feeling he deserved the nod (not me but some). That's enough, for the moment, to make him the #1 guy in the best, most talented, and deepest division in the sport. P4P is all hypothesis with no test; I hypothesize the best welter in the World is always a top ten guy and in Mosley's case the win was so awesome he gets the five.
That said, I had a bad day and overstated Marg's defense last week so I'll give you that one.

There's a fair case for it; know this much...I don't view huge gaps between guys on these lists. I have said previously that you can pick number 1 and lay everyone else out alphabetically. It's the thinnest of nut hairs separating any of them.I guess the little guys don't count as much. Im not saying Mosley isnt deserving of P4P because he is. But 5 is to high!!!!!!!!!!Mosley has gone 3-1 in his last four with easy wins over Collazo and Marg, a KO of a former lineal champ who showed up tough (Mayo) and BARELY lost to Cotto with some feeling he deserved the nod (not me but some).
