2009 Gets a Sugar Shock: BoxingScene Pound for Pound

By Cliff Rold - Turn back the clock? Nonsense.

What Shane Mosley did, at age 37, was much more than that. He ripped the clock off the wall and stomped on it in much the same fashion he took to curb stomping Antonio Margarito over nine rounds on January 24th. It was a revelatory performance that allows for reevaluation of his entire career and it certainly causes a new look at the state of the game’s best fighters. How new a look?

Vic should be on the list. I am not a fan of his but come on his last two fights have been against champions everyone picked him to lose to and he demolished the both of them. Vic D definately needs to be on the list number 6 or something better.

Looking at the P4P list I say that Vic should be on the list. I am not a fan of his but come on his last two fights have been against champions everyone picked him to lose to and he demolished the both of them. Vic D definately needs to be on the list number 6 or something better.

Where Cotto at? Bunch of hater, did you forget that he clearly beat Mosley?? If they don't think he should be higher than Mosley, at least put him at number 6 or something. He's beaten Mosley, Quartey, Torres, Paulie, Judah, all by ko's, except Paulie.

Great list I personally would have Donaire or Darchinyan in there over Calderon

In boxing, you're only as good as your latest performance. Win today and you erase all the shames of yesterday. But on my card, unless you do it at least 3x in a row, you can't get my vote. Not taking anything away from Mosley, I think Margarito was beaten because of the differences in their stye. Margarito is a warrior, he always wants it toe to toe. Mosley, just like his comrade BHops is a tricky fighter. And he was extra fast and accurate that night. Obviously, he and papa coach got some tips from the Pacquiao-Roach battleplan against DLH. Papa Mosley admitted to this in one interview after the Dream Match. Although it may sound ridiculous at this stage, putting Mosley instead on top of the P4P list ahead of Pacquiao may do wonders. It might pave the way for a Sugar-Pacman showdown. Ain't that great? Of course, Pacquiao has to get past Hatton first. Forget Mayweather. He's afraid and he's not gonna come back, saying he's still numero uno and Pacquiao isn't good enough for him. Do you believe that chicken?
