I just think that to get through 40 fights and numerous camps of other fighters and multiple athletic commissions is damn near impossible..... The commission signs of on the wraps every fight, they are trained to know about that stuff.... Also wouldnt someone from other camps have mentioned this.....

Tito did. Who knows. The bottom line is Cotto fans should keep their mouths shut because Williams still beat Margarito, and Margarito knocked out a Cotto that always fades down the stretch and doesn't know how to punch and move.

The point was that the wrapping was illegal and it wasn't to protect the hands, it was to increase punching power, as Hopkins said, Trinidad was essentially hitting opponents with baseball bats, even Trinidad Sr. said it increased punching power, it took years and ironically, Naazim Richardson to spot that, it's not surprising that Margarito's wraps were overlooked all these years when it's happened before with Trinidad, if he has been wrapping his hands that way for years.
