Did Clottey really injure one of his hands in that fight?

I just watched it, and it looked like Clottey was in control for the first few rounds, then the fight switched like day and night. Clottey just stopped punching.

With the news of Margarito's plaster handwrapping, is it possible that Marg's punches hurt one of Clottey's hands while Clottey was in his shell, blocking?
