What did Antonio Margarito do to get all this hate

cotto deserved it for losing to an inferior fighter in margarito and alot of people thought hatton was overrated but he wa undeafetd once he lost to floyd it gave people something they could really say about hatton

Theres no way Margarito could have gotten away with this against Cotto in Las Vegas, the boxing capital of the world. THerefore i dont believe he used anything in that fight

Not all of us hate him. I for one felt bad for him when he got stopped. But the reason why there's a big shift in Margarito's popularity is because of the handwrap controversy. Margarito fan or no Margarito fan, you have to admit that the incident is disheartening.

I completely agree with you on this one, which is why I had mixed feelings on who I wanted to win in this fight. It was precisely how I felt for Pavlik-Hopkins, and last night's fight was almost a replica of the one on October.

Okay, yeah. He lost against a surprisingly impressive Shane Mosley, who hadn't looked incredibly dazzling since years ago. Last night was a jaw-dropper, not only because Mosley was outpointing him in every round, it was because Margarito was getting rocked again...and again...and again...and again. Margarito's chin has taken a long way in the sport, but after all the flush power shots he's taken in his last two fights alone (Cotto/Mosley), it has to take a toll on you. Not to mention the fact that this was the first time in Margarito's career where he was stopped. It was unbelievable.

I sincerely hope to see Margarito bounce back from this, but at the same time he has to think well about his fights, he can't keep fighting like that blocking power shots with his face. Sooner or later, it'll make you a shell of your former self.

It's a combination of reason as to why people hate or dislike him. #1 reason is the over glorifying from all his fans/nuthuggers here on the site. Plus the media making him sound like he was invincible & the whole most feared man on the planet bull****...According to his fans he can walk on water...lol

I disliked him before Cotto, then I hated him after Cotto.

Now the cheating is the icing on the cake.

It has to do with him trying to cheat. As a Cotto fan right now I really don't know if Cotto lost in a fair fight so I am really upset. It also has to do with a lot of his fans making him out to be this Terminator kind of guy. It also has a lot to do with what other people have been waiting for and that is Marg just showing that he isn't a great fighter, a guy with a great chin but he cant box and people waited for that. I am not trying to be hateful on that last point but most people knew this kind of thing was bound to happen and it happened in a big way. All these things came out at the same time and it just blew up like a volcano. I don't really hate Margarito unless if its found out he has been cheating. If hes cleared of cheating then I will go back to liking him as a person except when he is fighting Cotto.

He does have a big mouth. I'd say calling just about every other fighter in his division a coward over the course of 5 or 6 years is being pretty damn mouthy. Now, he got caught trying to break boxing's cardinal sin. If you don't see why people are reacting the way they are its because you don't want to see it.
