Jesus people. Margarito still has a better chin than Cotto and a better chin than 90% of other boxers throughout the history of the sport. He might not be a great fighter, he might be a cheater, he may be whatever, but he still has a titanium chin.
Shane Mosley was landing at will in spots and was straight teeing off with CONSECUTIVE (like 6/7/8) massive power shots in the 8th round. It took a lot of huge shots to put Tony down and out.Comment

Ok I keep seeing that Cotto's chin is Glass-like..etc cuz he was rocked by Torres Corley and Judah..and of course Margarito..
Yet HE has YET to be knocked down..
He was pulled down by Torres and TOOK knees against Margarito..
He didn't get dropped by Mosley neither!...
Now Margarito who was obviously wobbled by Clottey..and DROPPED by Mosley..how can he be claimed to posses a better chin?...
Cotto is been in there with solid punchers and has gotten hit FLUSH!...and doesn't go down..
So you guys can be the judge now!
Cotto unleashed a beating on Margarito that he could not have recieved himself. Tony was landing weaker shots and hurting Cotto more.
It was Mosley's SPEED that made the difference the this fight.Comment

we are talking about chins, anyone can get hurt to the body
please post some kind of evidence that states that margarito did indeed use plaster in his wraps for the cotto fight. Until then, dont talk ****.
...and for the record, getting knocked down doesnt mean you have a bad chin, you can stay on your feet and have a questionable chin. The fact that Cotto was staggered and hurt by those fighters makes his chin more fragile than Margarito's chin, who didnt even wobble to bombs landed by Kermit, PWill and Cotto himself.Comment

First and foremost you gotta look at the mental aspect of the two fights. Shane completely took Tony out of that fight mentally and had an answer for everything coming at him. He didn't allow Marga to control space, he didn't allow Tony to use his strength to his advantage, he didn't allow Tony to finish the exchanges. Even in Tony's best round, Shane landed some big bombs and didn't let Tony take the momentum. In the Cotto fight, Margarito was down early but I'm sure he could sense that he was doing some damage himself. I'm sure that gave him some confidence and he pretty much willed himself through that fight.
Secondly, I think the amount of consecutive power punches Shane landed late got to Marga. Shane wasn't wasting motion and he wasn't really backing up. He was always in a position to punch and in that 8th round he just opened up with several hard power punches which Margarito just couldn't withstand. Cotto would land some very good punches, maybe 2 or 3, but then he'd move away which gave Marga some incentive to come back. Shane didn't let that **** happen. He rocked MArga, saw more room to keep punching and just let Tony have it.Comment

I think both guys have great chins but I gotta say Margs is better. Reason being is thats he eats punches so cleanly and for the most part keeps coming. It's the superb conditioning of both fighters that allow them to take such punishment and continue fighting.Comment

No Triangle.. Simple math... Cotto in his last Fight could not with stand Margs punches.. the fight before that he fought Mosley who he could hurt.. NOW the guy That could hurt Cotto.. could not hurt the guy that Cotto could hurt.. these fight are not years apart.. they are in succession.. they show exactly what what is UP.. Marg didn't grow weak over night.. And Cottos Punch resistance didn't turn to **** over night..
What changed was Margarito's Punch effectiveness..Comment
