First of all, HUGE Tony fan and despite of this heartbreaking loss I will still support my boy all the way, hopefully all this handwrap accusations can come to light and see that it was all a lie most likely made up by those f uckers in HBO, who never wanted Margarito to be the man at 147, it was quite evident on that Cotto fight and was still shown at last night's fight with that biased Cotto-lover Lampsley.
Now about the fight...well what can I say? Mosley did a superb job, he was determined as f uck, his punches were incredibly hard and thrown with will and conviction, I admit I was DEAD wrong with my prediction, Mosley had the smarts and experience to absolutely dominate Margarito in every way imaginable. Like many of Mosley supporters said in here, ****m had a huge impact on this fight and it was clear on the tactics Mosley utilized to win this fight, he looked fantastic.
Tony on the other hand...well as soon as I saw him walk down to the ring I knew there was something wrong with him, call m crazy but he just didn't look focused, he looked nervous and lethargic, he just didn't have that presence he always had in the past, that determination and swagger he brings in the ring with him, his whole entrance was disturbing for some reason. He fought out of balance the whole time, didn't throw any punches, much like DLH against Pacman, he was a sitting duck the whole time and it didn't help the fact Mosley kept mugging, clinching and wrestling the whole time throwing head-butts throughout the fight. I don't know, he just disappointed me tonight, he just didn't have it in him and Mosley never let him get in a rhythm.
Now as far as his career goes...I don't really know, I think this fight will really affect him, I don't know if he can bounce back to his normal self, it might take a while or maybe he won't ever, I'm really sad if that is the case because he is and will be my favorite fighter of this era. His whole blue collar approach, his upbringing and all the challenges he's had to overcome, I will always respect him for that and I really hope the issue with the handwraps is all false because I honestly don't think this man would have to stoop this slow in order to win, I just refuse to believe it.
In conclusion I wish him all the best and I hope he can recover from this loss, the man who has never been KO until yesterday, it will be hard and I pray that like he said it was just an "off night", love you Tony and I believe in you, and I'm sure your true fans will still be there to chant your name and ride with you to become champion once again, and if that is not the case I will always cherish all those great fights you brought to us, all the blood and sweat you left in that ring just to give the fans what they really wanted. Arriba compa, y que viva mexico.
