I never did really like Margarito, I always thought he was overrated.

But I can't bring myself to root for Pacquiao anymore because his fans are a joke. There is no logic or reason to their arguments. They just rant about how much of a god he is.

Their are fighters I like and then there are fighters I don't like but respect. For instance, I was a fan of Margarito until he started becoming arrogant and calling himself "the most feared ww on the planet." That turned me off towards him, but I still respect his relentlessness and his abilities. I like humble fighters who can respect their opponents before the fight and still beat the crap out of them once the bell rings.

As far as fans go, I try not to hold that against a fighter. Its not their fault they have male groupies who don't know the meaning of reality when it comes to their "chosen one." Like I was on this one message board and this one guy, in all seriousness, said that Pacquiao could have beaten a prime Tyson and Lennox Lewis on the same night. I mean how delusional do you have to be to make statements like that.

I know some of us are less mature than other (that's obvious) but it just gets old. Hispanic/Black/White/Asian fans hating on Hispanic/Black/White/Asian fighters is just ******ed to me and to alot of others as well. So what is your reason for hating a fighter so much? If it is the fans, then why is it taking you so long to grow up and realize how idiotic you sound bickering with other BS members? Or is it because of your race?? Does race determine who you root for and who you root against? I know for some people this is the case and for some its not. I am a fan of fighters of every race but, most importantly, I never let it make me forget what I am: A fan of the sport.

I understand that people need to relate to someone which spawns fans but what is your reason for being a fan? What is your reason for NOT being a fan? Is it ethnicity or the admiration of skill, determination, toughness, or fighting style that makes you a fan??

Very well said, I agree 100% Only true boxing fans would not lower themselves to argue about a fighter simply because of race. With this being said, of course you should feel proud to have a great fighter that represents your ethnicity, but not to the point of being an idiot and defending (or trying to) at any cost i.e. racism... just to defend your fighter based simply on this....grow up..love the sport for what it is and quit bashing each other on race..there are have been great fighters from all walks of life not just a few countries as some make it seem...Love the sport!!
