    My tribute to Naazim Richardson

In honor of Richardson's spotting of Margarito's illegal wraps tonight, and always going above and beyond to ensure his fighter's safety.

    BUMP.

Christ, all the bitching between Marg fans and Marg haters knocked this down to damn near the bottom in a single minute.

He's the best trainer right now. I like how Bouie Fisher taught him everything he knows pretty much. In 10 years or so, I bet John David Jackson takes Naz's place by having learned everything from Naz.

Naazim is highly underrated. Did you notice how freely Shane was able to land with the right hand tonight? He literally could not miss. Now I know Margarito's defense is utter ****, so that probably lent itself to Shane's accuracy.

But I just found it amusing that given the lethal nature of Hopkins' right hand, Shane was banking on it tonight.

The throw a combo and hold thing was reminiscent of Bernard too, however Bernard would move out of the way. Shane doesn't move side to side as well as Bernard, so ****m had him tie up instead. Maybe also he didn't want Shane using energy always moving his legs. I know the body work was ****m too. Jack would have never thought of that.

Yeah, I'm not taking away at all from Shane. He was ultimately the man that executed the gameplan in there.

But you could just sense Richardson's hand in that gameplan. Shane's never landed the right hand like that in his entire career. And he's never been smart enough to follow his already good combos, with a clinch.

Makes you wonder what kind of fighter Shane would've turned out to be, had Richardson had him from the start.

I agree. I know what I'm about to say isn't obviously at his level, but I felt that Shane Mosley reminded me of Sugar Ray Robinson tonight. The older version I've seen on flim anyway. I think Robinson was a better fighter then Shane, but the way he fought with amazing hand speed, a wicked right, and fluidness reminded me of Sugar Ray.

Brilliant performance by Shane Mosley, who I clearly underestimated.
