The Ring's 147 vacated title to stay vacated for a long time?

Now that Margarito has lost to Mosley... Mosley automatically is number 1 and Margarito loses his ranking. I do believe Cotto stays in the top 3. And the plans from Arums mouth is "Even if Margarito loses, the Cotto rematch is still on" which i highly doubt, but who knows? I don't think Mosley-Cotto 2 gets done till LATE this year or next year. Mosley-Williams will less likely happen cause Williams is fighting at 160 and I'd think making 47 will be harder next time. So whats happens with the title? Mosley is going to probably try to score a big fight with Pac after Hatton, and Cotto will probably have to wait in the sidelines and just unify.

    Anybody esles thoughts on this?

If Cotto and Margarito have a rematch and Cotto wins, a rematch between Cotto and Mosley would be for the title. Or if the Ring drops Margarito to 3 and elevates Cotto to 2, Mosley-Cotto 2 would be for the title.

The Ring title can sometimes be fought for between a number 1 and a number 3 in a special situation, either way, a Cotto-Mosley fight should be the fight for the Ring title.

Mosley NEEDS to fight Williams to be the real champ. Paul didn't lose his belt he vacated it because nobody at the weight had the balls to fight him. Not even his damn mandatory (Jennings)

        Yeah i know.

Cotto is still TOP 3 so if they ever were to fight whether Cotto is 2 or 3 it'll be for the title.

BUT - I think Mosleys going to look to cash out with Pac - if not ; he did indicate he wanted a Cotto rematch.

I just sent this email to Ring for their ratings:

Based on Mosley's win, he should pretty clearly go to one but after that? No one has seen Cotto fight since losing to Marg so how he's responding isn't known. Marg could drop to two, Cotto three in that case. Cotto doesn't have an in-ring case to be made to move ahead of Margarito after all. Given stoppages for both in their last fights, a case can be made to elevate Clottey past both into the number two spot. He beat a former undisputed champ in Judah and no one knocked him out.

Pacquiao is fighting Hatton in May, maybe if Cotto-Margarito 2 doesn't happen in June, Cotto-Mosley 2 can instead, the winner then can fight Pacquiao towards the end of the year, November or December.

It could be another year before the ring belt is filled. If Cotto-Mosley II isn't made in the summer, which should be for the vacant belt, Mosley could fight...even someone like Berto, and then Miguel Cotto if he wins the rematch.

Hopefully Arum cans the rematch for Cotto-Marg II, while it certainly would sell well at MSG for the Puerto Rican parade weekend, it won't do well on PPV. Maybe it would, but Mosley-Cotto II would do better.
