Its been tough being a fan of mexican boxing

Giovanni Segura lost to Cesar Canchila
Hugo Casarez lost to Calderon for the 2nd time
Cristian Mijares was knocked out by Darchinyan
It dosent look good for Arce to beat Darchinyan
Tough to see Israel Vasquez and Rafael Marquez, two mexican warriors beating each other up.
Daniel Ponce De Leon lost KO 1 to Juan Manuel Lopez
Tough to see Juan Diaz and Juan Manuel Marquez have to fight each other.
Antonio Margarito just got stopped by Mosley
Jose Luis Castillo continues to fight
Julio Cesar Chavez keeps on padding his record
Marco Antonio Rubio is going to be decapitated by Pavlik
Librado Andrade was jipped in Canada against Lucian Bute

Now on the other hand there are other mexican champions doing great in boxing. Also these fighters have had impressive wins for mexican fans to get excited about for example margarito over cotto and marquez over casamayor. But the point of this thread was to show that mainstream mexican fighters in the spotlight have had it rough lately.

The one that hurt me the most was the Mijares loss. No way did I thikn Vic would dominate him and knock him out. Now Im hoping the Marquez brothers still have something left. I hope Rafa and Israel for that matter didn't beat the hell out of each so much that they could be shot. Then with JMM im hoping he doesn't show up looking old in his next fights.

There's another way to look at it.

If not for all the Mexican warriors like Vasquez, JMM, Raf, Margarito, Mijares, Arreola, Andrade and others, boxing would be a dull sport.

Usually the best fight of the year involves one or more Mexican boxers.
