He cheated against cotto, cotto shouldn't have 1 loss on his record... I hope Cotto sues Margarito, he probably gave Cotto brain damage with his cheating hand wraps. Every win on Margs record should be questioned now, Clottey probably deserves a win against Marg too...

Shane Mosley vs Antonio Margarito, Round By Round, How It Went Down

                  Mosley TKOs Margarito!

20,820: largest crowd ever at Staples Center By Francisco Salazar & Felipe Leon at ringside
Shane Mosley (46-5, 39 KOs) is a world champion again as he dominated WBA welterweight world champion Antonio Margarito (37-6, 27 KOs) , earning a stoppage victory in the ninth round before a pro-Margarito crowd at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, CA. The 20,820 in attendance was the largest crowd to ever see an event at the arena. Mosley began the bout aggressively and won most of the exchanges between the two fighters. Margarito had his moments during the middle rounds, but Mosley consistently landed the harder and more effective combinations. Mosley hurt Margarito, ultimately dropping him at the end of the eighth round. Although Margarito survived the round, Mosley went in for the kill in the ninth round and had Mrrgarito reeling against the ropes until Margarito’s corner threw in the towel, prompting referee Raul Caiz to stop the bout at 43 seconds of the round.
                  ———-
In his first bout under the Golden Boy Promotions banner, Robert Guerrero (23-1-1, 16 KO’s) stopped Edel Ruiz (31-22-4, 22 KO’s) in the first round. A hard left hook to the body ended matters at 43 seconds as referee Jack Reiss stopped the bout. A two-time world champion at the featherweight limit, Guerrero is now campaigning at 130 pounds. This was his first fight in 11 months.
                  ———-
2000 Olympian Matvey Korobov (3-0, 3 KO’s) destoyed Jose Florentino at 2:28 of the first round. The Russian Middleweight dropped Florentino to the canvas with two left hands. Florentino (3-4, 3 KO’s) stood up, but referee David Mendoza stopped the bout as Florentino was in no condition to continue.
                  ———-
In a minor upset, lightweight Luis Tapia won his pro fight at the expense of prospect Brian Ramirez. Referee David Mendoza deducted a point from Ramirez in the third round for hitting below the belt. Tapia (1-2) started strong, but tired late as Ramirez (5-2, 3 KO’s) came on strong. Scores were 38-37, 38-37, and 39-36 for Tapia.
                  ———-
Junior middleweight Saul Roman (30-5, 20 KO’s) won a sloppy eight round unanimous decision over Nicaraguan Jose Varela (23-5, 16 KO’s). Very little exchanges between the two fighters. However, Roman landed the more telling punches. All three judges scored the bout 79-73, 79-73, and 80-72 for Roman.
                  ———-
Unbeaten lightweight Adrian Broner was taken the distance for the first time in his career as he won a six round unanimous decision over game Jose Alfredo Lugo. Broner (6-0, 5 KOs) was accurate and active, but had to hold off Lugo (10-7-1, 6 KOs), who made a late charge in the fight. Scores were 60-54, 59-55, and 58-56 for Broner.
                  ———-
Unbeaten Juan Carlos Salgado won a workmanlike six round unanimous decision over veteran Cristian Favela. Salgado used his height and strength to control most of the action. All three judges scored the bout 60-54, 59-55, and 58-56 for Salgado.
                  ———–
Junior lightweight Jerry Belmontes (6-0, 1 KO) was too fast for outgunned and game Jesus Hernandez (2-4, 2 KO’s), winning a four round unanimous decision. All three judges scored the bout 39-37, 39-37, and 40-36 for Belmontes.

                      Sugar Shane Mosley: A Vindication

We all know about steroid abuse. I dont' believe that you can find a legitimate sports fan that could ever appereciate or stand for an athlete that cuts corners and places drugs over hard work, heart and talent.

Shane Mosley's entire boxing reputation has been on the line since the accusations of doping in the De La Hoya fight.

Tonight was a beautiful exhibition. Margarito showed himself as the warrior here all knew he was.

                      My scorecard as it happened:

                      1st round 10-9 Mosley
                      2nd round 10-9 Mosley
                      3rd round 10-9 Mosley
                      4th round 10-9 Mosley (clear)
5th round 10-9 Mosley (closer, M pulls away in final minute)
6th round 10-9 Mosley (near shutout, backing up Margarito)
                      7th round close, 10-9 Mosley
8th round 10-9 (brutal) Horrible accuracy.
                      9th round: TKO

                      Please discuss.
