Unlike others, I think Floyd was dead serious about fighting Shane. I dont feel Floyd thinks that Mosley has any chance of beating him. Also, even though Shane fought alot at 154 and is clearly bigger & stronger then Floyd, I dont think Floyd fears his size. It would be a problem but Floyd could handle it. Thats why I have always felt that Floyd would fight a Mosley, Berto, or even some bigger guys like Collazo & Clottey. Mosley isnt naturaly huge, Berto is built nice but doesnt have Cotto type strength while Collazo & Clottey are bigger guys but there not the type of fighters who try to physicaly pressure you like a Margarito or Cotto. Thats why I think that unless Floyd gains weight then he wont fight a Margarito, Cotto, or Williams. Maybe he should try to get that weight gaining guru who's name escapes me, to help him put on more weight while stilll being able to keep his skill set.
If Mosley were to win and it was just about a big money fight then I think Floyd would definatly do it but its not just about that. Even if Mosley does win I dont think Floyd would fight him simply because it will drasticaly change the Pac fight. If Pac kills Hatton now while Floyd has been out for 2 years then most people would easily think that Pac would beat him and I think Floyd wants people to beleive that. However, even if Pac killed Hatton but Floyd beat a Mosley that just beat Margarito then probably the odds would switch into Floyd's favor to win the Pac fight and he wouldnt get as much credit. Thats why I dont think he would fight Shane unless it was after the Pac fight and Shane still hadnt loss or maybe even won a rematch with Cotto. I also seriously think that if Pac beats Hatton and Floyd beats Pac at 140 then we will see Floyd try to fight JMM at a catch weight if JMM can stay unbeaten in the process. That would also be a huge fight "in" boxing
