Has Margarito become vastly overrated?

VERY overrated. He is the top dog right now, but he has been beaten before and one fight doesnt change that. He had beaten Kermit already so the rematch wasnt unexpected, and beating Cotto the way he did doesnt make him unbeatable. He took some huge shots and was getting outboxed for half of the fight. Clottey was outboxing him before hurting himself. Williams beat him. The blueprint to beat him has been shown already and he will lose again. Just not very likely that its to Shane. But with all of that said, even with his wayyyyyyyyyy over the top fans, its hard to dislike the guy. He earned it all the hard way.

Find me a thread where more then one Margarito fan will even admit that Marg even has a chance of losing and we can talk. It's just like the people on here who only follow Pacman fights. They think he is God and cant be stopped. Most posts are something like "Nobody can touch the Mulleted madness of the Tornado!!! He is the greatest and most feared fighter in the world! He would KO FLoyd! He will kill Mosley in the ring! I feel bad for Cotto cause Marg took his soul! Hate on haters but he is the best" and so on. They dont have to just say "He cant be beaten" but it is implied.

I'm a marg fan and a realist, every boxer has a chance of losing, and i think mosely may have a better chance than cotto, because experience may be key here. However i don't think he will beat margarito. I think before and after fights you get a higher influx of **** talking fanboys that want to hype thier dude and start **** with fans of other fighters, its just the nature of the beast. You can't base margaritos ratings on nuthuggers and fanboys, I don't think the Average intellegent boxing watcher overrates Tony here, they look at the fight objectively, IE I want Tony to win and i'm a fan and i think he's a favorite, however if Mosely Executes strategy A he could defeat Margarito.

Co-sign. Marg has never changed what he does. He's the same fighter he's always been, he's just had a chance to show it in a big fight. He got a lotta shine for the Cotto victory. And of course, PBF ****suckers can't stand it, so they hate him wit a criminal passion nowadays.

i dont hate him, i just dont like some of his gay fans... i think he's overrated by some of his gay fans just a tad.. thats not saying i think he's a bad fighter because he obviously is good

yes he has been overrated but for good reason he beat alot of top ww's but his boxing ability isnt as good as cottos,moselys,or pbf. this is why cotto will be a better boxer than marg just not as good of a chin
