    Freddie Roach Vs Emanuel Steward...

Freddie Roach is the owner of the Wildcard Boxing Gym in Los Angeles, and is currently one of the most popular trainers in boxing, with his train hard and win attitude.Roach was voted Trainer of the Year by the Boxing Writers Association of America in 2003,2006 and 2007. As you know by now Emanuel Steward is one of the most successful trainers and managers active in boxing today,Steward has demonstrated a golden touch with boxers which has led to many victories in the ring. Here's a small list of some of these trainers golden fighters.(Steward)trained the likes of-Thomas Hearns,Lennox Lewis,Evander Holyfield,De La Hoya,Jermain Taylor,Nazeem Hamed,JCC,James Tony.(Roach)trained the likes of-James Tony,Bernard Hopkins,(Manny Pacquiao),De La Hoya,Mike Tyson,(Amir khan),(Wladimir Klitschko),Manfredo Jr.In your Opinion which trainer would you prefer in your corner?

im taking roach. seems like steward trains all his fighters the same way (jab jab right) instead of taking what that fighter brings to the gym and advancing that. imo he was the downfall of JT.

I don't think you could go wrong either way. Right now, Roach has the higher profile, due to the success of Pacman, and Steward fighters have had a string of high profile losses (Lee, Cintron, Taylor) which caused some of them to look elsewhere. But all of this stuff is cyclical. If Banks and Lee start wrecking guys, and if Pacman takes a loss this year, their reps would be reversed in the short term public perception. That being said, I'd pick Steward to be in my corner. I think his problems with Taylor and Cintron had more to do with personality conflicts and old ingrained habits being so hard to break than his ability to teach technique and strategy. If a guy has been training a certain way and building habits since his amateur days, it's tough to completely change his style over the course of a few months or even over a few fights. Look and Gamboa's problems, the guy faces some adversity in a fight and he reverts to old habits and reflexes which have already been established.
