Clottey doesnt get enough credit, all the big fights go to Cotto, Margarito, Hatton, Mosley, Manny, but Clottey is one of the best, if not the Best welter (being Mayweather retired).
Technically hes great, defensively and offensively. Hes tremendously accurate and can land with power and speed. Before hurting his left hand against Margarito, he was schooling him, blocking and slipping punches, landing double left hooks, 4 punches combos, and some great counter rights after rolling his shoulder on margarito attack.
He did a lot better than Cotto against Tony (sorry cotto fans), and Tony was at his best there, even setting the record for the most punches thrown since compubox. If he didnt hurt his hand and forced to fight slapping him with lefts to try and land a right, he could have really decisioned Tony there. He was rarely cought on the ropes and even stunned the guy a couple times.
