Mayweather may beat Marg, but he won't get away without taking some heavy shots to the body. He'll probably spend the rest of the night after the fight coughing up blood from the internal bleeding.

a rematch would be awesome...both have improved...although its uncertain since margarito has been accustomed to big name fights now..

I would bet on Clottey in a rematch. Back to the the topic though I think that Tony would try to pressure Floyd but would have manny issues. Both guys would stay active the whole fight and fatigue would not play a part. Cotto gives Floyd the biggest issues at ww.

first of all styles make fight. margarito is to slow for mayweather and margarito is the top fighter at 147 because he ducked paul williams. margarito is pecfect for mayweather because clottey and cotto prove that margarito likes to block punches with his head. margarito can't catch up to maywaether and if he did he wouldn't be able to get through his defense. learn your boxing.

Margarito had an ankle injury in the last weeks of training, a wrist injury during the fight, and was coming off of a 9 month layoff (his previous fight with Gomez lasted 1.5 minutes). Despite all of that, he was able to beat Clottey. He made no excuses for his performance he just found the way to win.

And Clottey's hand was fine, only minor swelling. If you don't believe it watch the showtime broadcast of the Corrales fight where he admits there was nothing wrong with his hand other than it was swollen and it hurt. I wish he would fight Clottey again so he could punish his body again and we can all just realize that Clotteys stamina is his downfall, but it makes no sense now.

About the Mayweather fight, Floyd is the favorite no doubt in my mind. But, he doesn't have the balls to ever put himself through the type of mental and physical battle that Tony would subject him to. He knows there is always the chance he gets caught, or he gets beat down, and floyd doesn't like that type a fight.

To agree with some of the previous posters, I think Cotto would surely give him a tough as fight and would have beyond a dman good shot to beat him.

I respectfully disagree. I think Cotto presents the least problem of the three. Cotto would be outbox ridiculous and stopped. Cotto's gets stung easily with punches he doesn't see. Floyd is too slick, durable, fast all twelve rounds. This will overwhelmed Cotto especially in the later rounds were he fades. I mean if the feather fisted Paulie was able to put a boxing clinic on Cotto. Imagine what Floyd would do. I think only way to beat Floyd is to disrupt him by pressure. Cotto wouldn't be able to give the kind of pressure because he would not be able to take what’s coming back. He would have to stay outside were Floyd would just dominate.

Every day that he stays retired decreases the odds (which were never very good anyway) that you are correct. He'd do himself and his fragile ego well to either stay retired or (if his circumstances deteriorate to the point that he is forced to fight out of economic necessity) fight a big name marshmallow. Maybe PBF/DLH 2 or something...

Who has Mayweather faced at ww that would lead you to believe he can beat Margarito? Fact is Mayweather retired in order to avoid the winner of Margarito-Cotto. Mayweather would only consider coming back against someone he can beat like Hatton or Pac but if he felt the pressure to fight Margarito, he'd break down in tears and retire like he did before.
