Lucian Bute's management had been in discussions with Jeff Lacy, Jesse Brinkley and perhaps others, but it looks like the powerful punching but crude Fulgencio Zuniga will have another title shot. The fight will be in Montreal at the Bell Center.

Looks like Lacy was looking for too much money, so they chose Zuniga.

Bute procédera alors à une défense optionnelle de son titre IBF des super mi-moyens. InterBox confirmera la nouvelle lors d’un point de presse jeudi.

Zuniga, qui est âgé de 31 ans, est classé au 10e rang de l’IBF. Il montre une fiche de 22 victoires et 3 défaites. Le Colombien a subi ses trois revers aux mains de Daniel Santos, Kelly Pavlik et Denis Inkin.

InterBox négociait également avec l’Américain Jeff Lacy, mais il semble bien que la télévision américaine préférait voir Zuniga affronter Bute.

Le combat pourrait bien avoir lieu le 13 mars au Centre Bell.

OK, thanks for that. Shouldn't be too tough a fight for Bute and Lacy seems to know he's not the same anymore so he's just trying to get as much money as possible before retiring.

It should at least be an entertaining fight. Zuniga is very aggressive, and there's always the chance he'll catch Bute with a big punch.

Andrade is going to fight Vitali Tsypko in an eliminator to fight the winner of this fight, which should be Bute.

What did Zuniga do to deserve yet another titleshot? He's already lost to Inkin. Surely there's more deserving challengers out there.

What happened to Tsypko's shot? He's managed by Sauerland who has an option on Bute. Will that option not be exercised after Larsen (another Sauerland fighter) pulled out of a Bute fight???
