Bakit naman ganyan?
I can understand wanting to get even with Arum for treating you
like his property: closing deals without your input; signing off on not
just the purse cuts, but on the fight date --which is something that
you SHOULD have been asked about first.
I can also understand being overwhelmed by the forked-tongued
whisperings of your greedy hangers-on, who no doubt must be
kicking themselves over how their ploy has backfired, losing them
their percentage on millions of $$$.
You have a lot of rabid fans who'll claim this cancellation is some sort
of victory for "Filipino pride", but after all your postfight boilerplate
about "I'm just a fighter, and my job is to fight", you can't exactly start
claiming this is about principle --which is what a lot of your fans want
others to believe.
But hey, I'm a fan of yours too, Manny.
I was excitedly looking forward to a fight between you and Hatton.
Other were, too, and I'd been hoping all this "negotiation" **** was just
to hype the match, for continuous publicity.
Maybe I'm still hoping.
I'll never believe you're ducking Hatton.
I also refuse to believe this cancellation is about money to you.
I think this is about pride : wounded pride, because of Arum's way
of totally disregarding what you might have to say.
If you have a grievance with Bob, then put that fat bastard in his place.
You can demonstrate tha YOU call the shots without forcing a cancellation
of the match against Ricky.
If you're feeling offended, take it out on the offenders.
Taking it out on EVERYONE, including fans like me, is a ***** move,
and you know in your heart that you're making a mistake.
You've made mistakes before, and have humbly recovered from them.
I'm hoping you have the pride NOT to let pride get the best of you.
That you still have some of that humility we all loved you for.
Be Manny, not Money.
