I'm not trying to be racist but is it any suprise that black fighters before the 50s wound up broke? I mean didn't Joe get screwed out of a lot of money by the government?

my dad told me he went to back to the Phillipines and recognized Filipino boxing great Luisito Espinosa filling bags at a supermarket.

Sad really, apparently went downhill after his wife left him for his friend and took most of the assests, biatch!

He works as a MMA trainer now.

Gerald McClellan is a potential great. All his earnings in boxing went on his medical bills. Sad.

You are being a racist, a racist **** at that. The same **** happens to white fighters and hispanic fighters.

              _______

Cold reality of it is many people who make it big in the sport of boxing aren't that bright. It's not exactly shocking, most people if they had options wouldn't become a pro boxer because it is a big risk as there is no certainty of big pay checks.

More than likely you do it because you have nothing to lose. Mike Tyson, Bernard Hopkins, Mayweather family, Pacquiao, James Toney etc.

I think his promoter still owes him like $300k with a coupla title fights before. He's still expecting this and i think he's being helped by local lawyers.

Sad for Luisito, but good to hear he's a trainer now at least.
