Besides being the co-promoter to Saturday's welterweight showdown between Antonio Margarito and Shane Mosley, Golden Boy Promotions is also the co-promoter to the Affliction "Day of Reckoning" pay-per-view, which also takes place on Saturday night. The Affliction pay-per-view, headlined by heavyweights Fedor Emelianenko and Andrei Arlovski, will clash at the Honda Center in Anaheim, while Margarito vs. Shane Mosley is about 30-miles away at Staples Center in Los Angeles. Golden Boy Promotions have no idea what they've gotten themselves into with this stunt. To their credit, everybody is talking about it, and the Fedor/Arlovski fight is one hell of a fight for MMA fans.
Still, I don't see how Affliction is going to compete with the UFC. Golden Boy should just be happy with what they've done in boxing and continue to deliver us great fights, and not worry so much about being the best at everything.Comment

I just don't see how they can do it with only 4 PPVs a year. Do they have regular television spots lined up yet?Comment
