I was curious because on another forum, some idiot said that Cintron was ducking Clottey to fight Martinez
While Clottey is a tougher fight and a better fighter, this is most certainly not a duck.

ok let me ask you this who has clottey beaten???????????????????????????????????????? Exactly! If you haven't seen martinez fight then I don't know what to tell you. He's very crafty, a south paw. He's coming off a eighth-round TKO victory over WBA # 1 & WBC # 4 rated Alex Bunema. Vernon forrest turned down his mandatory fight with martinez. MArtinez is also the WBC #2 contender. He has pretty quick hands and he's a much tougher fight than clottey. If you don't know this you haven't seen sergio martinez fight. Just tune in feb 14th you will see what im talking about. This fight will have some fireworks.

Damn you get so touche sometimes. I was just asking because I have only seen him fight once, and that was against Bunema. And I know Clottey hasn't beaten anyone worthy outside of Judah. But Cintron fights terrible on the inside, for example, the Feliciano fight. And Clottey is a pretty good inside fighter. sorry didn't mean to sound so angry. Considering that cintron is moving up in weight and fighting someone as tall as him with a reach longer than him makes the fight a little tougher. Now add that martinez is a south paw and the fight jsut got even more tougher. Clottey seems to run out of gas alot! Clottey couldn't even stop a blown up corrales no matter how many times he dropped him. I think clottey is highly overrated! Most of his fame is based on a UD loss to margarito! Margarito was coming of almost a year lay off, fought on an injured and heavily wrapped ankle and had about 6 rounds in two years leading up to clottey. Clottey gets hit alot! he lets you hit him then waits till your done to fire back. A poor mans winky wright i guess. Martinez has good movement and is a better boxer than clottey, he's a south paw and very crafty and counters very well. This fight i am really excited about! Not too much people know about martinez so people aren't really talking about it but watch come feb 14th this might be the best fight of the night even though the angulo mayorga fight promises to be an exciting one!Comment

if putting words in people's mouth makes you feel better than go for it. But go for it amuze me, tell me why clottey is as good as you think he is. It's not that impressive when your fame comes on a UD loss in which your opponent broke compubox records for punches thrown and landed in a fight lol. He's merely a gate keeper. But if you want to prove me other wise and want to shoot me something im not aware about, about his resume then i'll be here listening.Comment

I am not putting words in your mouth, I never overrate Clottey, and never play a biased part on the forums when serious. You I can't speak for if coarse. And Margarito broke the compubox number, but seriously, how many of those punches landed? Because, I didn't see much get past Clottey's gloves other than the body shots. And how is he a gatekeeper when his biggest fight was against Judah? Isn't a gatekeeper a fighter who is there for the new blood to beat? Clottey is a good well skilled fighter, nothing more. Just like Margarito is a good one dimensional pressure fighter, who gets by because of his chin, and nothing more.Comment

clottey vs judah was battle of the gatekeepers. and the sad part is before the fight was stopped the fight was actually competitive lol. If you don't think many punches landed then watch the fight again. Clottey kept getting hit up high and low and he could do was put his hands up. IF you think margarito only gets by because of his chin then you obviously don't know much about boxing. Solid chins are EVERYWHERE in boxing! past, present, and future! if you think just having a solid chin can get you to the top then you are deeply degrading the sport of boxing and every fighter margarito has beat cotto and clottey included.
