The 55/45 deal Pac was offered a day or so ago was that Hatton would get 55/45 of UK PPV, Pac would get 55/45 of everything else (apart from the Philippines TV rights, which he's getting 100% of); and it's not clear from the OP whether that's the deal that Pac says he's agreeing to, or whether he's still holding out for 55/45 of everything.
In the meantime, according to the UK's Daily Mail, Arum says he's been forced to pay Pac out of his own pocket to save the deal:
Boxing promoter Bob Arum revealed he has paid Manny Pacquiao extra money out of his own pocket to make sure the Filipino agreed to fight Ricky Hatton.
Both fighters are believed to have been guaranteed £7.8million, but Arum has topped up Pacquiao’s guarantee after the fighter threatened to pull out.
Arum said: ‘If Manny’s people sat like business people instead of playing games we could have saved a lot of time and it could have been done easier.’Last edited by Dave Rado; 01-20-2009, 07:47 PM.Comment
