Tarver is great now?

I keep hearing on different threads about how great Antonio Tarver is and quite franly I don't understand it, take away what I consider to be a lucky punch victory over Jones and this cat has done what? Sorry, but Tarver ain't no superstar unless him running his mouth about how ferkin great he is somehow makes him one. Tarver needs to do a lot more than what he's done to be one of boxing's elite, i'll be very surprised if he gets past Glenn Johnson.

I am picking Johnson in this one, if he can smother RJJ, he can do it to Tarver as well. Tarver does have a bit more power, but I haven't seen anything that tells me he walks through Johnsons' punches, I see Johnson outworking Tarver and winning it on points...

Tarver isnt great and he cant take a punch upstairs or down stairs . Tarver like to counter but if u smother him like johnson did jones Tarvers punches have less power and Johnson Throws harder shorter punches

Tarver will not be on the ropes for Johnson to smother him. Both Tarver and Johnson are good fighters but I think Tarver is the better fighter with a much better defense.

Tarver is always open for body shots and when in close subject for upper cuts

You are right he does take more body shots than he should but he blocks alot of them as well. He showed a very good defense against Jones in both fights and I think he will show a good defense against Johnson as well and counterpunch his way to a victory.

When he fought RJ he took good body shots and didnt block any of them. And the reason RJ didnt throw that many is because of the reach of tarver and he counters plus RJ hates tall south paws hes always careful.
