this is 40% about money and 60% respect

MP doesn't base his 60-40 about how many people will watch the fight it is about what he deserve as P4P king. Is Hatton close 2nd? or some people of the world is just so used of paying Filipinos the lowest, that they don't deserve to be paid accordingly like the rest of the world. Fairness is what MP is asking for. There are millions of Filipinos out there that are under paid just because they are Filipinos. MP is fighting for his people. I hope MP won't budge, because this reflect the real sentiment of millions of Filipinos who doesn't have to leave their families to get under paid but they do not have other choice while MP has all the money in the Philippines even he live his life as millioneire, a million fold.

Pacquiao himself explains his actions in this news report

Pacman: High time for me to seek 'bigger share'

Filipino icon Manny Pacquiao has his reason for insisting to get the “best deal” out of his much-anticipated but still proposed fight against Britain’s Ricky Hatton.

The Filipino champion, whose rags-to-riches story served as an inspiration to fellow Filipinos, said he endured a long-hard road before reaching his present status as a boxing superstar.

“Dahil sa hirap na aking dinaanan at sinagupa sa aking career upang matamo ko ang aking katayuan sa larangan ng sport ng boxing, tama lang na makuha ko ang pinakamagandang deal at kondisyones sa laban namin ng pinakamagaling na boxer ng Europe,” Pacquiao said in his column Kumbinasyon (published on PhilBoxing.com).

(Because of the ordeal and hardships I went through in my career to reach my status in the sport of boxing, it is just reasonable for me to get the best deal and conditions in my fight against Europe’s most excellent fighter).

                  THATS OK..

if he stands to the 60-40 he wont get the fight..

and we wont get more money fighting anybody else.. unless he fights mayweather.... and i dont see that happening...

soo wrong call dude.... at the end.. hes gonna get less money.

I don’t begrudge a person for asking for what they believe they are worth, but this is a clear example of why you hear of so many boxers in financial trouble after their careers are over. Like I said, it’s his business, but Pac is making a poor business decision here. 52% of a fight against Hatton is going to be a hell of a lot more lucrative than getting even 70% of nearly any other potential fight out there. Maybe if Mayweather came back, but I guarantee you at best he would get just under the lion’s share of that purse. And after De La Hoya, Hatton is probably the most popular person in boxing. If Pac beats him as well he could not only be the number one boxer, but also the top earner in the sport for years to come. Sometimes you have to look at the long-term prospects of your decisions.

Pac needs to learn that having a huge ego inside of the ring is advantageous to a boxer's success, but is usually a detriment to his wallet.
