    How about Open Scoring...

To help solve the solve the problem of unfair scoring how about all fights being open scoring in other words announcing how the judges scored the fight after each round, then the judges would be pressured to score the rounds fairly. Sure it takes that feeling of ansiety of wanting to know the results of a close toe to toe fight but at least the scores would be fair.

I just don't like it because I've seen guys get on their bikes too much when they know they have it in the bag. I know the scoring can be messed up at times, but I like the anticipation of not knowing them till the end. Unfortunately bad scoring and robberies will probably always be part of boxing.

Open scoring seems like a good idea until you think about it. The previous poster said it well about the fighter who is winning just turning the fight into a snooze fest.

If they don't know the scores, then they really can't stop giving their best effort and have to keep the fight interesting.

When they announce the scores after 8 rounds.. it always changes the whole makeup of the fight.. The guy winning starts to coast.. and the guy losing starts to give up.. I don't like it..

Yeah that is a good idea... but I love the anxiety of waiting for the scorecards, its part of what makes the fight exciting. At the end of the day... there are always going to be controversial results regardless.

            Open scoring is horrible.

You can argue that they would feel pressure to score rounds fairly because the audience could see the scores live.... but the other side of the coin is fans aren't always right and when you throw in home town bias that means a fighter in their backyard gets to win every fight for the judge's fear of getting the crap kicked out of 'em?

yeah the wbc did something like that, i approve it but it leads to kinda bad things sometimes like sam peter quitting and it doesnt really prevent robberies
ive seen robberies in fights with open scoring

I remember in Mormeck/Bell 2 when Mormeck knew he could coast he did. Which ****** because in their first fight that's when Bell came on strong and got the KO. The second fight was almost exactly the same except Mormeck got on his bike in the latter rounds. It took out all the drama that had built up in that fight up to that point.
