Should Calzaghe vs Johnson happen?

I dont think there is a fight fan who doesnt like Glen Johnson, he is near the end of his career and has always given a tough fight. Does he deserve a big payday fight vs Calzaghe? Id like to see it. What do you think?

I think he should give Bernard the rematch that he deserves. Afterall, 'Nard was suffering from a thyroid condition for both the Wright and Calzaghe fights, and a lot of people still had Hopkins winning.

Although Calzaghe v Dawson would be better I'd like to see the fight, as unlike Hopkins I think Johnson does 'deserve' it (not that that means much). There is genuine 'unfinished business' there. And as to "old and past his prime" he sure as hell didn't look it in fighting Dawson.. a far more controversial decision than Calzaghe-Hopkins IMHO.

Hopkins won't happen, simply because Calzaghe can't stand the man. He couldn't before the fight, let alone after it. I think Calzaghe will probably just end up retiring, he knows Dawson is the obvious fight but he will want his farewell bash in Cardiff rather than Vegas or NY and, as Johnson pointed out in his letter to Calzaghe after the Jones fight, nobody in the UK outside of hardcore boxing fans has even heard of him.

Kessler is a good fight for Johnson if Calzaghe won't play.

No he didn't. He put in a very good effort in a few very one sided rounds in which he beat the snot out of Dawson, but Dawson was the clear winner.

Yeah, but not that boring. And the Jones fight was Calzaghes's chance to fight a legend. A chance for Jones to prove one last time he had fight left in him.

The only other fights he could have made were, Johnson, or Dawson. If you are going to retire, retire with $10m, rather than $5m.
