However I disagree that Collazo won. Just because Lederman said so, doesn't make it true. It was a close fight and the final round mattered and Berto won that round.

116-111 was Bullshhhh but 114-113 seems fair to me. People always use the punch stats to make point, well Berto threw less but landed more. He won the connect percentage.

Ray Mancini always says in every interview that they should of never changed the round limit in a championship fight.

Yeah that was the result of that fight and medical studies that determined rounds 13 to 15 were dangerous and there was dramatic increases in risk for brain injury during those rounds.


but dudes did it for years. they just freaked out after the three death's caused by that fight (ref, kim's mother, and kim)

On the inside Collazo got the better of the exchanges 90% of the time until he wore out. Berto was missing and in the 12th Collazo was so gassed he was about to collapse he was a sitting duck and was lucky it was only 12 rounds.

How do you explain Berto dominating the sixth round I believe? When Andre moved and boxed, Collazo looked ordinary. In fairness to Luis, he did lead Berto into his kind of fight. Even on the inside Andre was competitive,it is just Luis put together the more fluid combinations, but Berto landed the eye catching shots. It is tough fight to score, neither fighter dominated and one fighter faded in the end.
