Yes, they have to. If a point is taken, or a KD is scored, they have to count it. Regardless of whether they think it is right or not, else there would be no point in the ref deciding when to take points..

Well that is half right. Point deductions have to be made, but a judge can regard a knockdown anyway he sees fit. There is no rule in boxing that guarantees you get a certain bonus for a knockdown.

But this shouldn't be about race anyway. If it was a robbery, it was a robbery. I haven't seen it, but it looks like some people thought Berto won, and some people thought Collazo won. 3 judges happened to pick Berto (though one seems way off).
