Well he has to fight Tarver first because of a contract obligation, if he doesn't Dawson will face a serious fine (I'm talking about hundreds of thousands of dollars). Then there is IBF mandatory Tavoris Cloud. Depending on what the IBF says, the IBF might force Dawson to fight his mandatory. But of course the IBF knows about Dawson's situation and I don't exactly what IBF rules are, so he might be free to fight whoever he wants after Tarver. And I know Dawson will give Johnson a rematch.

It makes you wonder why Dawson agreed to the rematch clause in the 1st place.

What do you think? He hasn't gotten over it in over 15 years.

I haven't really heard a peep about Tavoris Cloud after he beat Gonzalez, nothing about his next fight or nothing about his mandatory clause, so I'm really not sure if hes ready to take this kind of fight at this stage in his career. I really want Dawson to fight Diaconu on HBO, that fight should have him seen as the best in the division, even though Calzaghe is still playing around with that ring belt.

The only thing I heard from Cloud is that he wants to fight the winner of the Clinton Woods vs Elvir Muriq match (which will happen in February 14).

Cloud will probably fight Clinton Woods. So Dawson is most likely free after he beats Tarver.
