Pacquiao Proves He Can Swim With Sharks Wearing Suits!

I don't see where Manny Pacquiao is being an overreaching, greedy pig.
I don't see where Pacman is saying, I am King of the World and everyone must kiss my ring.
I don't see where the Pinoy idol has reneged on any verbal deal or shamed himself by doublecrossing Bob Arum.
I don't see where the Megammanny is acting like an arrogant oaf.
What Pacman is doing is playing the negotiating game. He hasn't drawn a line in the sand and said I won't fight Ricky Hatton unless I get a 60-40 split. Please remember this is the same guy who took a 68-32 short end for a fight in which he obliterated Golden Boy Oscar De La Hoya.
What Manny is doing is saying he wants to see some financial acknowledgement that he is The Man who thrashed the Golden Man. He's not coming off a victory over pitter patter Paulie Malignaggi or the washed up Juan Lazcano like Hatton is.
Until any contract is signed, and that includes boxing deals, people can negotiate. It's when they put their John Han****s down that a contract becomes fully binding.
So forget all the mindless blather from this lawyer or that promoter.
Pacquiao is standing up for himself. His career will be short-lived while all "the suits" can be raping and pillaging the boxing world for decade after decade.
Maybe some are just now realizing the mild, meek, go along to get along Pacquiao is dead. In the place of the whatever you say, bossman, Pacquiao is an assertive businessman who fights for his rights with the same aggression and heart he shows inside the ring.
Pacman is not some little lamb who is going to keep taking the short end of the money stick.
Both Manny and lawyer Franklin "Geng" Gacal spoke reasonably, like civil gentlemen, to Nick Giongco of the Manila Bulletin.
Pacquiao said he's not rejecting the May 2 Hatton date if the deal is not 60-40 in his favor. And Jacal backed his client's play.
Pacman said he wants to see "the needle move" meaning he will accept the fight if there is some compromise on the Hatton team's part.
Again, Gacal echoed his client's remarks.
The plain meaning there is that Manny would likely greenlight the fight if he got a 55-45 edge or maybe even a smaller advantage, perhaps 53-47 or 52-48.
The man wants recognition for what he accomplished not only Dec. 6 but for the body of his awesome ring work.
He wants some fiscal recognition of his undeniable status as best around, pound for pound.
Bob Arum negotiates with everyone. He plays hardball like Willie Mays once did.
Does anyone think Richie Rich Schaefer tells his boss, Oscar, hey, pal, you just pay me whatever you wish for working as your CEO, I am sure you will be fair with me, old buddy?
Either the promoters and other handlers can take a small pay cut or they can squeeze a little more out of the various television en******.
