That is insane for something that is couple of hours and not alot of demand from mainstream sport fan
Some PPV? Every major PPV is 50 dollars and has been like that for a long time.

Less is more! Promoters need to take note.

And thank god this is not PPV. IMO, there sould be 4 major PPV events each year, no more. Last year was a cluster*** of bad PPV's. Not good, only isolates the sport more.

It shouldn't be that much of a surprise that the fight sells out. Any truly good boxing matchup is IMO the best thing in sports, right alongside the super bowl. Of course the game is in a "weak" state but fghts like this prove how good boxing really is.

Great news, maybe these guys will realize that you can do more for the sport in the long run by not trying to make a PPV event out of everything.

Who knows, maybe a few hundred thousand casual fans will happen to be flipping through and catch the fight on HBO, and then turn into paying customers.

The atmosphere is going to be awesome, not that 3000 people at the Home Depot Center **** I've been seeing lately on HBO. Hopefully the Mexicans are screaming there hearts out for Margarito and there are enough Shane fans to keep a U-S-A! chant going.

Or not paying customers. If I watched football I wouldn't be a paying customer, I'd be a "viewer".

Margarito Mosley- near sellout of 18k
Pavlik vs Rubio- sellout of around 8k
Cotto Jennings- projected to do 12k
Diaz vs JMM- expected to sellout 15k

proves fights need to be in cities where they can cultivate and cater to the local boxing fanbase and stay away from casinos as much as possible
