i was going to make a thread about this the other day (gary russell jr. is turning pro soon, too), but i didn't feel like writing out a bunch of stuff. i still don't feel like typing too much so, i'll keep it short:
i really think the guys who have turned pro (mainly andrade and wilder) need to stay busier. the most important thing for young pros is that they stay in shape, and stay active. andrade has only had 2 fights since turning pro in october. that's not enough. estrada looks like he's on pace to fight about once a month, which i think is great.
either way, i wish all these guys the best. despite the dismal showing in the olympics all of these guys have a ton of talent and potential.
and that article says that yanez is making his debut at flyweight in a 6 rounder? that takes balls and i respect it, but it seems very risky for a hot prospect like yanez.
