    The Next Great Champ

It looks like Pareja might win it all, but can Griffin get his props for avenging his loss with a close decision and two beatdowns since returning to the show....
ps. Bachman shouldn't have quit he could have won it all!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was moved to FSN, which effectively means it was cancelled, especially since the genuises at Fox marketed it as a "relationship" show, not a boxing show (maybe they should move it to Fox Relationship Net then).

I couldn't stand the fact that they wouldn't show the full fights. I can't stand to be manipulated by reality-show phonies, and the fact that they thought this would be okay with boxing fans is insulting. Plus if you read the latest Ring they talk about all the shifty stuff that went on during the filming of this show.

No offence to any of the fighters, though. Sure, they signed up for this, but it would probably be too tempting to turn down for most struggling boxers.

Nothing real bad...they just had some concerns abuot boxing reality shows in general. It's a little suspect when there are fights going on and the results of them don't come out till months later. Most states have laws about fighting too soon after your last matchup, as well, so technically these fighters could break the rules since their fights from this show are "covered up", so to speak (though they promised that they wouldn't do this).

Other than that there are some rumours of not following state laws to the letter, though the boxing show that caused the trouble is not identified (could be The Contender, as well). I don't think there's anything real bad like fixing or anything going on, so keep watching!

This was all in one of the columns at the beginning of the Hopkins issue. Not sure which column (my copy's at home right now).

After my boy Jimmy Mince went home to Louisiana, I gave up on the show, I thought they gave him a raw deal when they made him fight with the flu, no manager would have done that. Duva or DeLaHoya should have stepped in and said hold up, of course he won anyway. But to make a guy fight again so soon I thought was just plain wrong, I mean who fights twice in 3 day period?

They said he had no real signs of the flu though?

Ray Robinson fought 8 times in one day as did foreman, I believe.

i tired watching the next great champ and i couldnt. i was nothing like i thought it would be. they should have the fight 3 actual rounds (if that how many they go) instead of chopping the round up and making look like a soap opera. the whole show is garbage. good idea bad execution.
