Don't know about Detroit, but Jersey has a huge boxing fan-base... Maybe that is why its here. They say boxing is dying, not here it isn't

Adamek is from the jersey city area so he is a local guy. A large number of poles live in the nyc/jersey region as well

Still don't know why this fight didn't go to Flores, how he screwed this up...eh. As for Banks, the kid has heart, as he showed against Elieser Castillo. He also showed straight shots ruin his world and if he fought a guy who had heart too that he would be in trouble. Banks is getting a true title shot so kudos for him, too bad he is going to get steamrolled.

Why does this fight have to land in New Jersey? Detroit needs a big fight and this woulda been a great one to hold. Detroit has one of the highest population of polish people in the country and Banks is from Detroit. We just had the top two women fighters at the Palace, lets have a meaningful male fight.

Banks has never brought in that kind of audience, plus why would the champion fight in front of his opponent's crowd?

When he beat Steve Cunningham. The WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO titles mean nothing when there is a lineal champ, and Adamek is that. Tomasz was the #2 contender and Cunningham the #1. Winner equals lineal crown. See now terms like unify titles are obsolete.

Like I said, Detroit has a HUGE polish population. I believe we have the second largest polish population just behind Chicago. I am Polish and I would love to see this fight in a great boxing city, rich in tradition like Detroit. Not only would you have Banks from Detroit you would also have a Polish fighter fighting in a city with a larger polish base than the New York area. It would be a perfect fight for the city imo.

I told JB that when he and Andre Dirrell are both world champs I want to see them both defend their titles on the same card at Joe Louis Arena. He liked the idea himself.
