People are so dumb on this site.

A win over Barrera would be great for Khan. Barrera took Manny the distance in his fight before last. That alone shows he still has heart. Oscar didn't last the distance against Pacquiao.

This will be a good fight, and Khan is taking a big risk.

Some members of this forum can't see the experience gap between Khan and Barrera. This win would put him on track to title shot within the same year.

If it was say, Gamboa fighting Barrera, people would say that a win would be great for him. Because it's Khan, Barrera is now bum, who can't fight, and has lost all of his ring experience overnight.

I would I guess, but I think he would still lose to the top 10 and prescott.

Khan is saying he wants to prove how great he is. But the irony is he wont be doing that against this opponent. Because even if khan beats Barrera, Khans critics will say Barrera is over the hill. So its a no win situation for khan.
He should fight presscot again to show he has improved.

Even if Barrera is now of diminished capacity (and I'm not entirely sold on this view, but for the sake of the thread, I'll go with it for the moment) it has to be a step up for Khan. I mean hell, the guy got pwned by a lower tier guy fight before last. If Khan beats MAB , will I accept the premise that he's a lock for the lightweight crown? Probably not. But ,depending on how he looks in the fight and how Barrera looks, a victory here might point in that direction.

That said, I say MAB's still 70% or more of his old self and that'll be plenty.

Marco Antonio Barrera TKO10 Amir Khan.

Caveat : Barrera has to take Khan seriously. The kid has talent and is being trained by the guy that built the guy that beat him twice (once by TKO). If Barrera is not fully prepared and in shape on fight night, he loses.

i don't understand the hate around kahn. he is an exciting fighter to watch. his following is big and has great potential to be the next big draw in boxing. respect to him for taking this figh, so soon after the prescott fight.
