When I say competitive, I don't mean he was on his level, I mean he held his own. I don't think Manny was taking it easy on him since he was one of his main sparring partners for the De La Hoya fight. I also read on this website that Manny said that Khan gave him problems in the beginning with his speed and jab.

I'm certain that Manny was taking it easy on him. After he got knocked out against Prescott I'm sure Freddie would have told Manny to take it easy on Khan to give the kid some confidence. I can't help but believe that if Manny boxed like Manny boxes he would have knocked Khan out.
