You gotta be kidding. Ricky Hatton, when growing up, was as working-class as it gets. Just listen to the accent, FFS. Ricky is like someone you could meet any day of the week in the cities of England. If you think these kind of people represent the rich, you have no clue what you are talking about.

exactly. the thread starter has no idea how it is like living in england. it is not his place to label this fight as "poor vs. rich". muy e******o y ignorante

is the topic starter a complete, ****in' idiot? he seems to have his labels totally off.

hatton and his peers ARE WORKING CLASS. you seem to have mistaken hatton with the whiteboy, orange county bros from california who go to the beach and drive 4x4 trucks all day long. a modest community of carpenters and craftsmen from manchester = rich, oppresive white devilry? bahahaha

so that would mean that pacquiao represents the POOR AND IMPOVERISHED...people who for the most part aren't hard working at all lol.

of course manny pacquiao is a hard worker, but i can't stand the way you worded your little segment. you got things really twisted and it irks the **** outta me.

WORKING CLASS AND POOR ARE NOT SYNONYMOUS WORDS...THE POOR HISTORICALLY LEECH OFF OF THE WORKING CLASS AND EVERY YEAR BRING MORE AND MORE OF THEM DOWN TO THEIR LEVEL...IT IS A DISGRACE TO WORKING CLASS PEOPLE TO BE LABELED IN THE SAME CATEGORY AS THOSE BUMS

yea, that's right, bums. you seem to have some warped, fantasy image of poor people; one of burley men who work hard in a factory but in some way or another were screwed over by the government, yadda yadda. you've seen too many movies, buddy, i know cus i've seen the same ones. i've worked as a pharmacy tech since i graduated high school. i deal with people from all different classes all day long, five days out of the week, while your ass probably just watched cinderella man a couple hours ago and decided to put up this worthless, racist thread. the poor ones on government assistance are far from the hard working victims of circumstance that you describe so majestically. they are ****. absolute ****. lowlife human beings with no ambition, who are still alive and kicking only because of free medicine that come out of taxpayer's wallets. these people weren't ****ed over by anyone, they were raised to live off the system like parasites.

340...you know what this? i'll give ya the heads up. 340 was the number of prescriptions we filled the first monday after new years a little more than a week ago. it's always hectic during those days. drug formularies change; medication that used to be covered up until 12/31/08 are no longer covered as of 1/1/09...people get assigned new prescription plans, but are never informed by the employer. people have yet to meet their deductibles so they have to pay close to full price for their meds and ***** and moan to us as if we had something to do with it. the workload is big, and the day is tough, but in the end it's all manageable....however, the one thing that never ceases to piss me and the staff off are the sack of **** Medi-Cal patients who are so entitled, who believe everything should be free for them. funny that they haven't worked a day in decades (more of your poor buddies that you love so much, topicstarter...YAY). please enlighten me, oh wise one, where are these noble members of the poor who try oh so hard to put in work and contribute to society. hmmm? i'd sure love to see them. cus lemme tell you right now, most of the "poor" folk i've seen don't do jack and would rather live like bottom-feeders for free while we pick up the tab as opposed to doing some actual providing like the oppressed citizens you have wet dreams about.

just for ****'s and giggles. i'll make my own bold testament to the "class" of people manny impacts. he's a short burst of inspiration to bums who even if given the funding and opportunity would simply piss it away on material **** and drugs. he makes those who like to blame everything on the white man and their respective government feel good about themselves for a good 45 minutes until they go back to their parasitic lives as they continue to acquire freebies from the WORKING CLASS folk like ricky hatton and all those evil white oppressors.

oh, and nurses? wtf are you on. nurses are one of the most sought after jobs in the workforce today.. i think it's funny that you mention a job that is primarily dominated by filipinos (at least in cali) who rake in well over $100,000 a year. you aren't fooling anyone. let's face it, the reason so many filipinos do it is cus it's the most money you can get with a mere AA degree. ****, it's the reason i'm doing it (and yes, i'm filipino).

              Good luck to you.

If this statement is true you are going to be miserable.

And you are wrong about why 'so many Filipinos do it'

There is something that is slightly more important than 'the most money you can get with a mere AA degree'

              Its called job security.

              Learn about it young'n.

for the record, i am not offended by this thread. i don't think you're racist at all. you're just speaking what's on your mind. it just happens to be ******

Do you know the difference between the poor in the U.K. or the U.S.A and a country like the Philippines???

                  OPPORTUNITY

They don't have Social Security or Welfare like they do in the U.S. or England. The Brits posters even admitt that their poor community gets hand outs from the European Union.

They don't have Social Security in the Philippines. Poverty has gotten bad over there in recent years, most of the poor only eat ONE MEAL a day. If you live in Pandacan Park in Manila, you have to walk for miles in order to eat.

The Brits can claim that Hatton is "working class" but it is NOTHING compared to the working class of the third world. The OFW's have to leave their homes and work abroad just to feed their families.

It is easy to blame the poor in America because they HAVE CHOICE. In the Philippines, there is no choice. So how can you blame them for their situation???

If you honestly think the neighbourhood Hatton grew up in is anything other than poor, then you might want to consider a bit of research before you start another idiotic thread.
Since when did a council estate, populated by people who are either on state benefits or if they are one of the lucky ones, earning minimum wage, be anything other than poor?

It's a fight between two men, no more and no less.

In one corner, Hatton represents the "white man" not in terms of race but in terms of class. Hatton's group has historically ****d, pilage, and plundered around the world. They control most of the world's wealth and employ the lower classes.

On the other corner, we have Manny Pacquiao, a man who through hard work has transcended poverty in his native country. He brings inspiration and hope to anyone who dares to dream.

On May 2, Pacquiao will bear all the frustrations of working class on Ricky Hatton. Domestic Helpers, Nannies, Butlers, Janitors, Caregivers, Nurses, Drivers, and Migrant Workers, etc., will have their night. This is the opportunity of the working to finally "flip off" their bosses and masters.

A victory for Pacquiao will be a small but satisfying relief to the working even for just one night.

A 50/50 split of the prize money is fair but a 60/40 split for Pacquiao would have been JUST. Hatton will bring in the rich to pay for the luxury and front row seats. However, Pacquiao will bring the common man who can't be there, but can watch it on PPV. 60/40 is a dream of every hardworking person in the world. Imagine for 1 night you will be making more than the "white man."

No other fight and no other fighters can bring this emotion to the people.
It is no longer about "national pride" but about the dignity of every hardworking individual. Let the battle begin.

                      -FatNJerseykid

hatton brings more money then pac. he is lucky to get 50-50 split
