Klitschko's Should Be Challenged In 09

So let's take a look at Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko's fights (most only possible fights) for the forthcoming year.

Vitali Klitschko V Juan Carlos Gomez
Fight has already been made and i am looking forward to this. I have seen little of Gomez but one plus which i always look for particularly in heavyweight fighters is what shape they are in. Gomez always looks lean and cut and his style could cause trouble for Vitali. If there is one thing i think Vitali lacks i believe it is movement and Gomez will be on his toes, active and moving.

    Vitali Klitschko V David Haye
Looks more and more like Haye could be fighting Wladimir instead but the fight is still a possibility. Haye has decent speed and power though i'm not sure Haye has enough power to break Vitali's underrated chin. Haye is always in shape and if he moves enough and throws quick combinations can beat Vitali.

So in Vitali's fights i see Gomez having a decent chance. His style can cause Vitali lots of trouble. I don't think Haye's chin can stand up to Vitali's power though.

    Wladimir Klitschko V Chris Arreola
I feel as if Arreola is being too easily written off in this fight. He does need to get himself in shape and getting past Wladimir's jab will be a huge test in itself but Arreola bring just the style Wladimir doesn't like. He has power and only comes for the knockout and certainly won't stand there to be picked off by Wladimir's jab. Arreola needs to come as usual throwing bombs with a big risk of being KO'd by Wladimir in the process.

    Wladimir Klitschko V David Haye
Looks as if this fight could be in the mix and an interesting one it would be. Both possess good power, both have suspect chins but again the thing Wladimir hates most is an active fighter throwing swarms of punches forcing him to fight. Again will be a huge test getting past Wlad's jab but if he manages too i fancy Haye's chances.

I also know there is a good chance Wlad will fight Alexander Povetkin but don't know too much about him so won't discuss it. The Klitschkos could show their supremacy and show how they are undoubtedly the best heavyweights in the world this year but i am certainly pleased they will have at least some challenges.

I think arreola WILL stand there and get picked off all night by the jab. If he can take the power that is, if his chin doesnt hold up Wlad starches him with the first right hand he throws. I like the other fights tho.

I agree. Wlad has one weakness... his chin. His team has developed him into a fighter that protects that one weakness. I don't know that I pick Vitali over Wlad anymore. Not that they would ever fight, but Wlad seems to have finally gotten it right. As much as so many people hate to admit it, he is by far the best HW in the division.
