I think Hopkins is def HOF, and most likely ATG, but I dont really think he is a legend.

When i think legends, i think Roy, Ali, Young tyson..... Not really Hopkins

No offense, just dont think of him a legendary

        Bernard's resume speaks for itself.

There's nothing wrong with taking an L against a guy like Calzaghe, but in the years to come Bernard will be put on a higher pedestal than Calzaghe or Roy simply because he showed and proved much further along than anybody thought he would.

I mean, he beat the #1 Middleweight in the world at age 43.

        And then the resume??

        Winky Wright
        Oscar De La Hoya
        Antonio Tarver
        Felix Trinidad
        Joe Calzaghe
        Kelly Pavlik
        Roy Jones
        Jermain Taylor

...and the majority of these started taking place in his mid 30s!

he will not be put on a higher pedestal then roy, all you have to do is watch a roy highlight in 30-40 years and know that he was greater then hopkins

Calzaghe's and B-Hop's resumes don't even compare imo.

I think the only thing that keeps Bernard from being a legend at all is people's definition of the word Legend. As one poster said, he only believes people like Ali, Roy Jones, and Tyson as legends. In that case, legend means more than ATG. It all depends on how you view the meanings of the words themselves. Even after that it's all opinion.... in my opinion, I'm not a huge Nard fan but yes he is a legend and deserves a great amount of respect from all fight fans

Yes, without a shadow of a doubt.

4-5th best MW all time behind the likes of SRR, Hagler, Monzon and Greb. that you can only put those names in front of him says alot.

Best resume in current boxing bar none.

Most obvious poll answer I've ever seen on here.

                  It can go both ways...

Bernard will be looked at as one of the top Middleweights of all time no doubt, but he'll also be revered for his accomplishments post what most would consider his "prime"

Roy is the former Middle, Super Middle, Light Heavy, and Heavyweight champ of the world. Nobody today can say the same for themselves. His highlights alone are eye candy for even the casual boxing fan.

But in the end as far as opponents and overall accomplishments, I'd put Bernard just slightly above Roy as a fighter, but Roy IMO probably has the bigger persona. Both will be remembered.

yes hopkins has a better resume then roy, i dont think anyone can question that.
And i do think hopkins is an ATG
But legend in my eyes is a fighter, who when you see fight, mesmerizes you. A fighter who is virtually unbeatable in their prime.
Hopkins never really had that fire about him, that why I reserver legend for Roy, Ali, Young Tyson...

Another fight who is an ATG but not a legend in my eyes is lennox lewis.
