BoxingScene.com was informed by promoter Lou DiBella that a deal has been reached for WBC interim-junior middleweight champion Sergio Martinez (44-1, 24KOs) to face Kermit Cintron (30-2, 27KOs) on February 14 with HBO televising. DiBella promotes both fighters. The fight will be paired in with Alfredo Angulo vs. Ricardo Mayorga and Nate Campbell's defense of the lightweight title against mandatory Ali Funeka. [details]

Gotta give credit to Cintron. Most fighters are going out of their way to make easy fights for themselves and he continues to push for matches against guys that will most likely kick his ass.

Cintron isn't top-5 at welterweight but at least he is an exciting and willing challenger.
