Were you a more well rounded BOXER when you were 23 or 43 ?
im sorry but b hop that fought trinidad only had a little
more punching activity and he bounced on his toes more

against pavlik he looked relatively the same
didn't like he lost much except his legs but besides all that

23 - 43 is a huge window for physical changes to occur....

but bernard could tell you he feels better PHYSICALLY at 43 than he did at 23

WE the viewing public can't make these calls
it has to come from the fighters mouth to our ears

    • So you wouldn't take it from someone who faced B-Hop 3 times? I'll go with what I've seen and B-Hop was never the type of fighter to gass out in his prime. He gassed out in the 1st Taylor fight which I felt he won and started too late in the 2nd. He was 43 against Calzaghe

Yet you said he'll lose to a goood fighter with speed/ reflexes and ignore the fact that B-Hop CLEARLY wasn't the same.

      Watch
      B-Hop vs Echols
      B-Hop vs Johnson
      B-Hop vs Mercado

You'd clearly be lying to yourself if you said "B-Hop's stamina, power, speed, accuracy, workrate is still the same" In the bold....that is due to age

I'm sure you won't hold that against him?

Ok listen, RJJ said he is in the best condition against Calzaghe. He also said he was back...Ali said he was in the best condition against Larry Holmes!! and so I've heard, B-Hop said "Mayweather is the best fighter in this era"

Would you take all that into consideration also? or go with what you've seen

        We got eyes you know

ok explain to me why he didn't
gas against Wright, Tarver and Pavlik
and he gassed in his fight with jermain....
but he was older when he fought the others....
before you say it...i know what your gonna attribute
the fatigue to...weight and him making 160 at an advanced age
but yet you cannot use that argument because
your original argument was his AGE was the reason....

Your Boxing prime and Physical prime dont always coincide so you have to find a medium between the two. I think Hopkins prime was probably from Glen Johnson fight through to the Trinidad fight.

You are just being biased if you think Hopkins looked the same against Pavlik than what he did against Trinidad. There is no way Hopkins could of used the ring the way he did against Trinidad in the Pavlik fight, because that is one of the things that goes with age stamina! and that was proven in the Taylor fights and the Calzghe fight.

We cant tell, but we are allowed to be observant and apply our commonsense. We can usually see what period a fighters best performances came in, because there is usually a pattern where they looked at their best in consecutive fights etc.

He did gas against Wright. Sorry you weren't paying attention.

After 3 rounds both Tarver and Pavlik were inert punching bags. If you've ever been in a ring that makes it a LOT easier than guys who are actively presenting a challenge to you and you don't use up much energy smacking them around.

Honestly, AGAIN your telling me B-Hop's workrate in that fight was of a prime B-Hop? Didn't notice all the holding?

B-Hop didn't look good in that fight so...

                ARE YOU SERIOUS?

You know this guy is being biased, when he says things like he did'nt gas against Winky, he looked the same in the Pavlik fight as he did in the Trinidad fight, Calzaghe is the same smart fighter now that he has always been

you are confusing condition with reflexes.....
                    two different terms entirely....
roy was in his best condition, he just couldn't move out
the way of punches because he no longer has reflexes....
reflexes have nothing to do with condition....
reflexes are a physical attribute that are enhanced with age being
                    the key....
as athlete myself i can tell you how my condition is the same
now as when i was 17, but at 17 i could jump higher (im 25 now)
why could i jump higher back then? age
i can still run 5 miles , swim , jog, run all the bull**** that
measures my condition, but in the reflex department
things aren't quite the same....im not as fast, but i can
                    still get the job done

                    basically, condition vs reflexes
i can do the same stuff physically, just not at the same rate
why? because my reflexes have eroded, yet my condition
remains the same, therefore i am able to do the same stuff
                    just not as quick
