WBA welterweight champion Antonio Margarito picked up the biggest win of his career when he stopped previously unbeaten Miguel Cotto last July. When Shane Mosley steps in the ring against Margarito on January 24 at the Staples Center in California - he plans to pull off the big upset by showing the world that he is the stronger, more experienced and overall better fighter. Mosley claims to have given Margarito the blueprint to beat Cotto. He believes Margarito studied a tape of his fight with Cotto and saw how constant pressure at close range gave Cotto problems. He got 38 knockouts because the majority of them were at 135-140. The more he moved up the less his power became. If he shows up like he did vs. Mayorga, Margarito will stop him. If he shows up like he did vs. Cotto, Tony will decision him 8-4 or so.
Mayorga practically showed how to beat Mosley and that's not saying a lot. Shane better hope that performance was an anomaly and not father time catching up on him.

In a way Mosley is correct, he had much more success against Cotto when he was coming forward and pressuring Cotto.
As to Cotto showing Margarito how to beat Mosley, I doubt Margarito would be able to outbox and outjab Mosley like Cotto did.

I don't buy for a second that 154 was the problem that Shane had against Mayorga. Mayorga was huge compared to Shane and he was akward. That and Shane is 37 and was catching up to him. Mayorga roughed him up and Shane had a hard time figuring it out.
Maybe Shane will be a little faster and have some sucess for the first 3 rounds or so, but he'll end up looking like hell and taking a beating at the end of the fight.
